As a passionate student of the history and original design intent behind these mid-century marvels, it pains me to see many flippers jumping on the MCM bandwagon and making insensitive alterations to these classics. Painting brick, covering original oak flooring with laminate, tiling brick fireplaces, or using incompatible, trendy finishes like black door hardware or paneled cabinets have diminished the design standards of these architectural masterpieces.
